The Office of International Academic Initiatives is committed to assisting Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é State students, faculty, and staff with the protection of their own safety and health as they travel abroad to pursue a variety of educational endeavors abroad. The University has contracted with Aetna OnCall to provide a policy which provides international travel, medical, and security assistance.
Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é State requires all enrolled students to have health insurance coverage either through the University’s plan or through a personal plan. The University plan provides health insurance coverage abroad. Students on other plans should check with their provider prior to departure to determine whether they have coverage while abroad. If not, students are encouraged to purchase an overseas health insurance policy.
All students participating in OIE study abroad programs must enroll in Aetna OnCall through the online application checklist. Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é State University students and outside students who are participating in international activities sponsored or facilitated through Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é State University (not through OIE programs) are required to purchase the policy through the Travel Registry.
Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é State University faculty and administrative staff are strongly encouraged to purchase the policy on any “University-related” international travel.
